Tirana’s New Bazaar

The New Bazaar is a covered market selling quite a variety of items: fruits and vegetables, nuts, musical instruments, tobacco, spices, tourist souvenirs, brightly painted pottery, olive wood, cheeses, olives, ordinary household goods, and more. The market itself is surrounded by restaurants offering both traditional Albanian dishes and more modern fare such as pizza.

The New Bazaar was constructed in 1931 on the site of the old Ottoman trading center.

The New Bazaar is located on Rruga Qemal Stafa, about a 10 minute walk from Skanderbeg Square in central Tirana.  It is open from 8:00am to 9:00pm daily.
