The first time I saw this, I just thought it was one individual’s decorating style, but I’ve seen it several more times since then. It makes no sense. You essentially have a bare bulb glaring down on you.
This particular example was in Belfast, but I’ve seen it elsewhere in Europe as well — but don’t recall ever seeing it in the U.S.
